Donald Sultan (b. 1951)

Bio

Donald Sultan was born in Asheville, North Carolina. After earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina and a Masters in Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Chicago Sultan moved to New York in 1975 to pursue his career. He has since received honorary doctorate degrees from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C., the New York Academy of Art and the University of North Carolina.

Sultan’s work is represented in numerous museums throughout the world including the Metropolitan Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Tate Museum in London.

Apples and Red Pear were both purchased after a very special afternoon spent by Jeff and Carolyn at Parasol Press in New York.
