Geert Maas (b. 1944)
Bio
Geert Maas was born in The Netherlands where he studied at the Academies of Art in the Hague. In 1979 he moved to Kelowna, B.C. where he lives and works today.
Maas’ work is represented in numerous collections including the City of Kelowna, the City of the Hague, the City of Vancouver, University Museum, Bergen, Norway, Kyoto Tachibana University, Japan and the National Museum, Dresden, Germany.
Joy has been on Jeff’s main boardroom table wherever he has worked since 1993. On the Beach is one of a series of works by Maas on the “On the Beach” theme including a very large installation of five large bronze pieces on the campus of Simon Fraser University.
