Bio Barbara Ballachey (b.1949)
Barbara Ballachey is a Calgary painter. She has a BFA from the University of Calgary. Her work can be found in numerous public and private collections including the Alberta Art Foundation, the Edmonton Art Gallery, the Glenbow Museum and the University of Calgary. Her work was prominently displayed in two 2013 exhibits at the Glenbow Museum focused on Alberta art of the 1970’s and 1980’s.
We first saw English Garden as a canvas rolled out on the floor of the Paul Kuhn Gallery and we both knew instantly that we had to have it. It has hung in our kitchen for almost 25 years; a constant window to summer during the long Calgary winters.
